“What a fabulous B&B. Toushy was the perfect host and ensured that every creature comfort was catered for. Everything was just perfect, the house beautiful, breakfast set us up for the day and was delicious. We all felt very spoilt. Thank you very much for having us.”

“Stayed in this wonderful period property recently, what can I say, words are not enough, the super host Toushy and then her little Yorkie, from start to finish we had the most beautiful stay. You feel like a member of Toushy's family, made to feel so welcome fabulous comfy bed in her gorgeous home littered with art, books and much more. As for the breakfast it was outstanding everything from locally sourced sausages to organic tomatoes to homemade jams and preserves all served in Toushy's beautiful home. By the way we loved it so........much that we have booked a 2nd trip for 2023 staying for a week at this breathtaking b&b set in an area of outstanding beauty that is "The Cotswolds" and "Pepper Cottage".

“Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay with you. You house is perfect and you are such an interesting and thoughtful host!

I really do think it is the best B&B we have ever stayed in.

It was perfect for breaking our journey from Cornwall, having a lovely walk from your door before we left made the last stretch home go so much more easily. We will certainly try to plan in a slightly longer stay another time so we can make more of your lovely surroundings.”

Cathy & Stewart September 2022

“A superb stay in a stunning property! It was so peaceful and I was made to feel so welcome by my host, Toushy. Very clean and comfortable and if I ever have a need to be in the area again, I would not hesitate to book a room at Pepper Cottage!”

“We spent a very happy couple of nights with Toushy. The double room is spacious, comfortable, and extremely clean. Toushy is a fantastic host, helpful with booking restaurants and sharing her local knowledge. We loved the tea by the fire and games in the cosy sitting room. She provided us with two delicious breakfasts. We were able to really relax and couldn't have asked for more.”

“It's not just the beautiful period house with all modern comforts it's the exceptional hospitality and warmth offered by Toushy herself. A lot of thought and detail has gone into what's on offer making for a wonderful stay!”

November 2021

“The 5 star reviews are no exaggeration! We are loath to repeat them in case Toushy gets fully booked for ever and we can't come again!

The beauty of the house inside and out is wonderful. It first took me ten minutes to just come downstairs as the books, paintings and furnishings on the way down were so interesting.Toushy is the most thoughtful and kind host who made us feel at ease from the first moment with tea and cake in the pretty garden and the sound of the water trickling by in the rill in the background. This is no ordinary B and B. I even wanted to smuggle Raffles out in my bag, he is so sweet and gentle, and I never used to be fond of Yorkshire terriers.”

“From the moment the gates of Pepper Cottage opened, we knew that we had stumbled across a very special place. It really is truly idyllic. The rooms were immaculately clean and the attention to detail second to none. Toushy's taste is impeccable and we appreciated all the special touches such as fresh flowers from the beautiful garden in every room. Toushy is the perfect hostess, her warmth and hospitality ensured that our stay was a memorable one and she made us feel so welcome. Pepper Cottage has to be the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we can't wait to return! Many, many thanks.”

“A piece of heaven - beautiful house set in a beautiful garden with a stream running through. Comfortable and beautiful rooms, and a cooked breakfast to die for! The host, Toushy, was delightful and went out of her way to look after us.”

Tessa June 2021

“My wife and I stayed for one night en route to visit family. The location, the friendly and helpful reception, the comfort and ambience, the breakfast were all faultless. A perfect stop-over. We would also certainly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay for longer in this area, and we hope to return some time.”

"Amazing, stylish and comfortable accommodation. Peaceful location. Superb host. It’s always those extra, little details that one appreciates. For all the comments we have expressed, we can only award you 10/10. Wonderful! Thank you from us both."

S&R October 2019

“A most wonderful welcoming generous hostess, Toushy goes out of her way to ensure you have a truly relaxing stay. Our second visit was every bit as good as the first in May this year.”

Susan August 2019

“What an amazing find this beautiful home is tucked away in the cotswolds. Such a delightful bed and breakfast with a lovely hostess who looked after us so well. This is a beautiful home, warm and comfortable with delicious breakfast as well. Thank you so much dear Toushy we will certainly be back again!”

Rachel May 2019

“The only thing to match the beauty of this house is the wonderful host, Toushy. The cottage is up a narrow lane in a charming little village. A short 5 minute stroll takes you to the village pub which, although a bit noisy, is good for an informal meal. Pepper Cottage is a gorgeous home with heaps of character but not lacking in any of the 5 star amenities that you would expect in much grander accommodation. Looking out the window of the main bedroom shows you a vista straight from a romantic historical novel. You could imagine that you are living in the 18th century. A good selection of tea and coffee are set up in your room but Toushy is more then happy to make you some if you are in the beautiful garden or enjoying the ambience of the 16th century lounge area. Breakfast is also plentiful with lots to choose from. Toushy goes out of her way to be helpful which makes your stay seem more like visiting a good friend. It is a shame we live so far away or we would go back to Pepper Cottage in an instant.”

“Just a line to thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, brilliant breakfasts and gorgeous home which all combined to make our weekend with friends such fun.”

S&P April 2019

“We had a lovely stay at the charming Pepper Cottage. A beautiful home with lovely decor, interesting books and paintings. The bedroom was lovely and the breakfast excellent. Toushy was a very graceful host and managed to find us supper at a nearby pub at late notice. Highly recommended.”

Will March 2019

“Pepper 'Cottage' is in fact a spacious and most attractive house, with all the luxury of a top hotel, plus the quirky and very real charm of a part-15th-century thatched cottage set in a pretty garden. The master bedroom is lovely, with an exposed timber screen and a gloriously comfortable bed, and the bathrooms are splendidly efficient. Not easy to find the first time, but a jewel once you do.”

MTJ Dec 2018

“What can we say! Pepper Cottage is total perfection. After a long car journey Toushy and Raffy were there for us with such a warm welcome followed by tea and cake sitting in the drawing room beside a roaring fire. Toushy's home is beautiful with such a peaceful atmosphere and her attention to detail in everything was so much enjoyed and appreciated. We are really looking forward to a return visit.”

Peter & Margaret Nov 2018

"One of those rare, VERY special stays.  Charming and beautiful, peaceful and restful, comfortable bed and lovely room.  Loved everything about our host and her gracious, caring ways.  We were made to feel most welcome and Toushy catered for our requests for hypoallergenic bedding and dietary requirements. We enjoyed our stay so much that we promptly returned the following week.  It was a real tonic and we came away refreshed on both occasions.  We will definitely be back again."

Nigel & Christine March 2018

"Thank you for such a lovely stay in your beautiful home, and for your kindness and hospitality. Thank you also for all those extra things you provided - taxi organising, restaurant booking and boot cleaning, to name a few - all very much appreciated. It was the perfect weekend!

We certainly will recommend you to anyone who might be coming your way and, of course, hope to stay again ourselves."

Julia & David March 2018

"It was a treat and an honour to stay in Toushy's beautiful home which is warm, comfortable and stimulating with its plethora of interesting books on a vast variety of subjects, its lovely furniture and furnishings, and the welcoming and homely atmosphere. The breakfasts were delicious and Toushy's attention to detail was much appreciated. She made us very welcome and we were able to enjoy a rare meet-up with old friends in the various spacious and comfortable living rooms where we were welcome to relax."

Philippa & Martin February 2018

"Our hostess, Toushy, and her little dog, Raffi, made us very welcome in her beautifully appointed thatched cottage. She let out an extra room too, so that we could meet and spend time with a couple of old not-often-seen friends! Delicious breakfasts were prepared to order from an almost unlimited menu which included local produce; the beds were home-from-home comfortable, the hot water plentiful and the shower powerful! We have no hesitation recommending Pepper Cottage."

Tony & Kate February 2018

"The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. It would have been easy to spend all the time in the spacious room but there is also a sitting room with a welcoming stove and a breakfast room with an open fire. The location is convenient for both access and for exploring the whole of the Cotswolds. The owner is delightful company and shows impressive attention to detail and generous help with visit planning."

Carole February 2018

"Pepper Cottage and Toushy are both delightful. The cottage is beautiful: thatched roof, oak beams, big comfortable bed, lovely views. Toushy takes great care of her guests and I felt well-rested and revived. "

Elizabeth October 2017

"Our recent stay at Pepper Cottage was a delight. The house and gardens are beautiful, the setting retired and peaceful, and Toushy’s welcome could not have been warmer: she went out of her way to make us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent. It was a shame we could not spend longer there. We certainly hope to return the next time we are in that part of the country."

Clive August 2017

"Pepper Cottage epitomises why Sawday is the 'Bible' for the discerning traveller. Quite simply the best hospitality we have experienced in forty years of travelling in the U.K. Toushy is a charming host and the cottage is absolutely delightful. We will certainly be back."

Mary August 2017

"We had a wonderful stay at Pepper Cottage. Toushy is a fabulous host who cooks a fantastic breakfast. We highly recommend staying here!"

David July 2017

"Toushy is a delightful hostess and Pepper Cottage is simply idyllic. The house is a 15th century gorgeous thatched cottage, the beds sublime and the gardens are a dream- beautifully landscaped with swings and slide in the orchard. Toushy made us a delicious breakfast. I wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks very much."

Vanessa June 2017

"Fantastic B and B. Beautiful cottage, wonderful host, great in every way. We would certainly visit again."

Jill May 2017

"A wonderful cottage in a beautiful Cotswold village. Toushy is a charming hostess who is more than happy to entertain us with interesting stories and provide lovely tea and cakes. Breakfasts were delicious and included locally sourced produce. The cottage was homely yet exquisitely presented with every home comfort. We only stayed for two nights, but would love to return to such an original cottage and it's delightful owner."

Angela May 2017

"Pepper Cottage is really a gorgeous, lovely place. We spent 2 nights there in April exploring the Cotswolds and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are so cosy and incredibly lovingly decorated. Homemade breakfast was delicious. The host is very nice and made us feel very welcome. She also gave us tips where to go, which proved to be very helpful. I can only recommend it."

Sabbina April 2017

"Fantastic, friendly and open hostess. Felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and were provided with coffee and cake. A lovely rural setting but so close to M5. Lots of walks nearby offering regional views and wildlife. Our cooked breakfast was prepared to order with quality ingredients and we had an additional choice of cereal, fruit, toast, yogurt and croissants. Lovely nearby pub with others in walking distance. Nice little touches included a bowl of bedside M&M's and fresh biscuits sprinkled with petals in the room. Deeply characterful property with exposed beams and antique furniture. We felt as though we had stepped into the pages of Country Life. Will be recommending to several of our friends so book soon!"

Rodney April 2017

"This was a wonderful place to stay. The room was lovely and we were made to feel very at home. All the little extra touches were brilliant - biscuits, chocolate sweets and still and sparkling water in the room as well as tea and cake in the afternoon when we arrived back from our days out. The surrounding area is very pretty with walks from the cottage and some amazing views. I have stayed in quite a few B&Bs and this one has been by far my favourite. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends and stay there again myself."

Kirsty March 2017

"Wonderfully relaxing weekend break. Beautiful cottage and very peaceful. Toushy was an excellent hostess and we came away refreshed and rejuvenated. "

Marguerite March 2017

"The warmest of welcomes awaited us from Toushy and Raffles. After showing us to our large room, we were invited for a refreshing cup of tea in a drawing room we could use whilst there. Unfortunately it was dark on our arrival so we were unable to fully appreciate our accommodation location until the following morning. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection and the local sausages were delicious. We could not have asked for a better hostess in Toushy and look forward to returning."

Celeste March 2017

"Toushy could not have been more welcoming. Her house is beautiful and the bedroom large and very comfortable with a good bathroom and shower. The sitting room had a fire and we relaxed there in front of the fire before popping out to the nearby pub for a good dinner. Breakfast was delicious with all you could want. We would like to have stayed longer!"

Tim February 2017

"Our reception was warm and welcoming with the added bonus of a delicious three-course meal, which exceeded any expectation we may have had. It was wonderful to arrive to some quiet serenity, whilst enjoying the comforts of an open fire and beautifully decorated house. The breakfast set us up well for our snowy mountain-topped walks. I particularly enjoyed the granola, yoghurt and berries - the largest, sweetest blueberries I have had. Your local knowledge and recommendations were really useful too… You did a sterling job!"

John & Clare February 2017

"We had a wonderful welcome at this special place in the Cotswolds; charming hostess, beautiful garden, delightful environment, excellent food. We can’t rate it highly enough. As its first guests, we felt very privileged."
